Fantasy Interview | Ronron vol.2
Hello. I'm Sato, your fantasy interviewer. How are you all doing? Continuing from last time, I'll be bringing you another interview with Ronron-san.
Review of last time: It's natural for people to look at you. You're a panda.
・He likes bamboo the most. But he pretends to be happy when he eats apples for the sake of the zookeepers. He's surprisingly considerate.
- Sleep 9-12 hours. Waking up early is stupid (according to Ronron)
・There may be a lot of twisted people in Panta. They want to clearly distinguish between black and white. Extreme thoughts.

Hahaha (laughs) What kind of people are the zookeepers?
The person who gave him the name Ronron was Mr. Yoshino. He comes to see me at the same time every day. He says, "Good morning! I'm the first one here to see you today too." At first, I was overjoyed. But then one day I found out that the person Mr. Yoshino actually goes to see first is Lily the kangaroo. I thought, "Wow, I've been tricked." He was trying to make me feel better and lead me to "perform better." Rather than feeling betrayed, I felt like I'd been tricked. Of course, I felt a little sad. It was one of those sleepless nights. But I realized that this is the skill of a zookeeper. I really think it's amazing.
-You both have strong professional skills. What are some of the most rewarding moments for you?
It's the smiles of our customers, of course. They're happy just for eating bamboo. They're happy just for lying down. I don't know why, but that's been the same ever since I came here. I think it's our role to provide unchanging value. I would love to see people who are struggling to hang on in a society where so much is changing so quickly. No matter how much the environment changes, we'll always be here, lying down every day. I also want young women to come. Personally, when young women call us "cute," it really motivates me. It makes me happy. When that happens, I move around a little and offer them a little service. Pandas have feelings too, you know.
-That can't be helped... (laughs) Finally, I'd like to ask if you have any mottos as a panda.
My motto is to create opportunities to slack off. Don't pandas look like they're always slacking off? That's what I'm often told. You're lucky. All you have to do is laze around and do nothing.
But wait a moment. Surely lazing around is more like a panda, right? Customers come to see them like that. As professionals, we have to live up to their expectations, right? Ah, just thinking about it makes me angry.
-That's a difficult question. Wait, what happened?
.... Just now, as I was saying this, I thought, maybe I'm old-fashioned. What am I saying in this age of diversity? I don't dislike lazing around. But maybe I don't have to laze around. ...I'll explore this a bit. It also means I shouldn't rely on the title Panda forever. I'll talk to everyone about it. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to realize this.
-No, no, thank you very much... Wait, did you put it all together for me? I'm always amazed at your thoughtfulness, Ronron-san. Thank you so much for that interesting story.
What did you think? Ronron-san's understanding of his role and his determination to fulfill it were very dignified. I will follow his example! Once again, thank you so much for sharing your valuable story with us, Ronron-san.
Next time, we will be talking to Reiko, the queen of the Japanese striped snake world, who has a keen eye for observation. See you again! This is Sato, your imaginary interviewer.
(Everything written here is my own fantasy. None of it is fact, so please be careful not to inadvertently talk about it as trivia!)
